What are the Usage Fees?

Some machines’ usage is billed by the duration of usage. These fees pay for the costs associated with operating that machine including its consumables (e.g. blades, bits, grease, electricity, or other things that need to be replaced with use).

Why is there a time usage limit for the machines?

As a shared community workshop, daily time limits are placed on machines to ensure shared use by all the Fab Lab members. You are welcome to keep using a machine after your time is up as long as no other reservations are scheduled. For all the other equipment, they are available on a first-come basis however sharing is possible. If you have a specific need to use a machine for an extended duration please consult the Fab Lab team. 3D prints which will take between 6 hours and 12 hours, need to be started before the Fab Lab closing time so they can be completed overnight. Prints longer than 12 hours need prior approval before printing (to avoid scheduling conflicts).

Consumables and materials supply:

Berytech Fab Lab has several commonly used materials like 3D printing filaments, vinyl, plywood, Plumcreek MDF, PETG sheet, etc. These materials can be purchased from the Fab Lab or brought in by the members. Please check with the Fab Lab team for the updated list of prices as well as as the list of safe materials that are allowed.

Special Pricing

Some machines may have a reduced hourly usage fee depending on the user’s membership plan. Please refer back to the Fab Lab team for more info.
